Hidey Hole!

Tippi, one of our hens went briefly missing. I looked everywhere. Or so I thought. She appeared climbing over all the plants to the side of the greenhouse. I thought I would inspect what she had been up to. Nine eggs is what I found! All of them hers! She had certainly made herself a nice comfy place to lay. Obviously a choice of four nice comfy nestboxes for nine days or so wasn't to her high standards!

They were all still good enough to eat, after checking with the water buoyancy test, but we still saved them for ourselves! Very nice too!

Here's the lady herself when she was a bit younger. She has her full comb and wattles now!

Chickens = A constant source of amusement!

Thats sweet, my family has chickens and I don't know that any of them have ever left the coop to lay eggs. Funny. She needed a change of scenery!

I think she did! One of our others used to lay in one of the hedges, but we used to spot them before they reached nine eggs!

Thanks for visiting.
